Responsibility, Respect and Professionalism

Code of conduct

This Code of Conduct explains how we at METLAB take responsibility to act fairly, professionally and sustainably – in everything we do and in every relationship we build.

At METLAB we strive to conduct our business in a sustainable, responsible and fair manner – towards customers, suppliers, employees, society, and the environment.
This Code of Conduct outlines what we stand for and what we expect from everyone who works for us or together with us.

1. Laws, Regulations and Responsibility

  • We always comply with applicable laws, regulations, and official requirements.
  • If our internal standards exceed legal requirements, our standards apply.
  • All employees and partners are expected to act correctly and speak up if something appears wrong.

2. Respect for People

  • Everyone must be treated with respect, kindness, and professionalism.
  • We do not tolerate any form of discrimination, harassment, or degrading treatment – internally or towards customers and suppliers.
  • No one shall be disadvantaged based on gender, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, age, or political beliefs.

3. Work Environment and Safety

  • We aim to provide a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
  • We follow workplace safety legislation and relevant regulations and work systematically to prevent accidents and ill health.
  • Everyone is responsible for:
    • following safety routines
    • using protective equipment where required
    • reporting incidents, risks, and deviations
  • Alcohol and drugs are not permitted during work or when representing the company.

4. Environment and Sustainability

  • We work to reduce our environmental impact and use resources efficiently.
  • We comply with environmental legislation and permits and strive for continuous improvement.
  • In our decisions, we consider:
    • energy use
    • waste
    • transportation
    • other environmental factors
  • We encourage our suppliers and partners to work in a similar way.

5. Business Ethics and Integrity

  • We conduct business in an honest, transparent, and long-term manner.
  • We do not accept bribes, improper benefits, or any form of undue influence.
  • Gifts and hospitality may only occur in reasonable amounts, be transparent, and never aim to influence decisions improperly.
  • Conflicts of interest must be avoided and reported to the immediate manager, such as:
    • personal relationships that may influence decisions
    • financial interests

6. Customers, Suppliers and Partners

  • We treat customers and partners professionally, fairly, and with respect.
  • We expect our suppliers to:
    • comply with the law
    • work safely
    • respect human rights
    • avoid child labour or forced labour
  • When choosing suppliers, we consider:
    • quality
    • price
    • environmental responsibility
    • overall reliability

7. Personal Data and Confidentiality

  • We handle personal data in accordance with GDPR and protect sensitive information.
  • Customer information, measurement data, technical solutions and other confidential material are handled carefully and only shared when necessary and permitted.
  • Employees must be mindful of what they share externally, including on social media, when representing the company.
