Course in dust sampling and gas flow measurement
Three days for those who do their own measuring: the theory behind EN 13284-1, a full field day with your own measurements and a day of calculations, measurement uncertainty and reporting. The course is held once or twice a year in Enköping and takes at most twelve participants.
The programme
Three days, from the filter to the report
-
Day 1 – theory and preparation
Dust sampling according to EN 13284-1 and Energiforsk's Emissionsmäthandbok (the Swedish emission measurement handbook): isokinetic sampling, the measurement site, filters and conditioning. Filter weighing in the weighing room and gas flow measurement with a pitot tube.
-
Day 2 – field day
Measurements in groups at a real plant: leak test, gas velocity, sampling point by point. Each group takes its own samples with our equipment.
-
Day 3 – evaluation
Weighing the filters after sampling, calculations, measurement uncertainty and how the result is presented in a report, by hand and on a computer. A course certificate for every participant.
Practical details
Good to know
| Duration | Three days, Tuesday to Thursday |
|---|---|
| Venue | Enköping, with the field day at a plant nearby |
| Participants | At most twelve, so that everyone has time to do the measuring themselves |
| Who it is for | Operating staff and environmental engineers who measure, or are about to start measuring, dust and gas flow with their own equipment |
| Course leaders | METLAB's measurement engineers |
| Next course | Planned once enough people have registered their interest; register yours and we will let you know when the dates are set |
If several of you come from the same plant, we also run tailored courses at your site, in your own environment and at your own sampling locations. Gas analysis and wet chemical sampling can be included. Tell us what you want to learn and we will propose a programme.
Expression of interest
