At METLAB we want to run our business sustainably, responsibly and fairly – towards customers, suppliers, employees, society and the environment. This code of conduct sets out what we stand for and what we expect of everyone who works for us or together with us.
Laws, regulations and responsibility
We always comply with applicable laws, regulations and the authorities' requirements. If our own requirements are higher than the law's, our requirements apply in our operations. All employees and partners must take responsibility for acting correctly and speak up if something seems wrong.
Respect for people
Everyone must be treated with respect, kindness and professionalism. We do not accept any form of discrimination, harassment or degrading treatment – whether internally or towards customers and suppliers. No one may be disadvantaged on grounds such as gender, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, age or political beliefs.
Working environment and safety
We aim for a safe, secure and healthy working environment. We follow working environment legislation and the relevant regulations and work systematically to prevent accidents and ill health.
Everyone is responsible for:
- following safety procedures
- using protective equipment where it is needed
- reporting incidents, risks and deviations
Alcohol and drugs are not permitted in connection with work or when representing the company.
Environment and sustainability
We work to reduce our environmental impact and conserve resources. We comply with environmental legislation and relevant permits and strive for continuous improvement.
In our decisions we consider:
- energy use
- waste
- transport
- other factors that affect the environment
We encourage our suppliers and partners to work in a similar way.
Business ethics and integrity
We do business honestly, openly and for the long term. We do not accept bribes, improper benefits or any other form of undue influence. Gifts and hospitality may only occur within reasonable limits, must be open and must never aim to influence decisions improperly.
Conflicts of interest must be avoided and always reported to the line manager, for example:
- personal relationships that may influence decisions
- financial interests
Customers, suppliers and partners
We treat customers and partners professionally, correctly and with respect.
We expect our suppliers to:
- comply with the law
- work safely
- respect human rights
- not use child labour or forced labour
When choosing a supplier we consider:
- quality
- price
- environmental responsibility
- reliability
Personal data and confidentiality
We handle personal data in accordance with data protection legislation (GDPR) and protect sensitive information. Customer data, measurement data, technical solutions and other confidential information are handled with care and shared only when necessary and permitted. Employees must be careful about what they share externally, including on social media, when representing the company.
